We are actually quite particular about interior finishes, especially carpentry, because we believe these are the details that make a home feel properly designed. We got in touch with about five to eight different ID firms, but at the last minute we were drawn to Singapore Carpentry because of the uniqueness of the designs featured on their Instagram. We wanted something more personalised, with distinctive materials and customised furniture for our new condominium.

A Very Disappointing Renovation Experience: Poor Coordination, Lack of Accountability and mostly sloppy works. If you are considering engaging this company, my advice is to be prepared to oversee EVERYTHING yourself, from start to finish. Do not assume that your ID will take ownership of the renovation or follow through from the beginning or be the expert you wish he was. You have to chase after every single day, to the extend It was like our second job. Our experience has been extremely disappointing. The ID was working from home/office most of the time, and honestly, my husband was physically present at the renovation site more often than the ID himself. We often felt that we had to take matters into our own hands just to ensure things were moving along. It has now been FOUR months since the renovation was completed and we moved in, yet we have been dealing with outstanding issues, renovation defects and rectification matters. Say got 7-8 years warranty but please listen to what all has 7-8 yrs warranty also.. many essentials will not be under it. What is particularly concerning is the lack of communication and coordination. On one occasion, carpenters turned up at our home to carry out rectification works without the ID even knowing they were there. Our meeting with the ID had only been scheduled for the following day. My husband was home and assumed the visit had been arranged by the ID, only for us to discover later that the ID was completely unaware of their presence. This raises serious questions about how the company manages its contractors, communicates with homeowners and takes responsibility for work carried out at customers' homes. A renovation is already stressful enough. The last thing homeowners need is to constantly chase their ID(when reno is ongoing), coordinate with the workers themselves, finding reno things not up to standard and worry about whether outstanding issues will ever be resolved. So many times being told that it is very normal, this is normal, every house is like that, mine also like that. when it is clearly not what we want and not normal. Based on our experience, the entire experience, the after-sales service and accountability have been extremely poor. An ID should be someone homeowners can rely on, not someone they have to constantly follow up with and chase after to do his job! My advice to future customers: Do not assume that everything will be taken care of. Be prepared to supervise, chase, follow up and manage almost every aspect yourself. Unfortunately, our experience has left us with very little confidence in the ID and the company's ability to deliver reliable service.

Both me and my spouse work full time, and renovation was something we were quite nervous about because we knew we wouldn't have much time to oversee the daily progress. We wanted a good, reliable company that could help coordinate the various renovation works and keep us informed without requiring us to constantly chase for updates. Our experience with Singapore Carpentry’s team of designers was generally reassuring. The team was willing to listen to our requirements and understand how our family uses the different spaces.

We had been looking for an interior design company for quite some time before deciding on working with Singapore Carpentry. We met with several firms, and while some had nice designs, we didn't always feel that they understood what we were trying to achieve. We wanted our 3 bedroom condominium to have a modern luxurious hotel-inspired look, but at the same time, it still needed to feel warm and comfortable enough for everyday living. What we appreciated about Singapore Carpentry was that they took the time to understand our preferences instead of simply presenting us with a totally standardized design package.

My main concern going into renovation was the look and cost. I've heard too many stories of renovation budgets spiralling out of control but the results turning out mediocre, so I was quite cautious about choosing an interior designer. ID Ernest from Singapore Carpentry was quite straightforward when discussing the costs, which I appreciated. Rather than pushing us to upgrade everything, he helped us identify where it made sense to spend more and where we could use more economical alternatives. We ended up investing more in the kitchen island and living room marble feature wall, while keeping some of the other areas simpler.

I would like to thank designer Ice for the three months of hard work and dedication. The overall design turned out exactly as we expected! Although there were a few minor imperfections, Ice was very responsive after we communicated our concerns and immediately arranged for the necessary corrections. The attitude and service were excellent, and Ice even proactively offered us a discount. I would highly recommend Ice to everyone! I’ll also share a few photos of the finished work for your reference. Personally, I absolutely love the final result!
