Hey TS, your situation sounds like a sticky one. Are there any terms in your contract that elaborate more on your situation?
Hello everyone,
I need some advice on a situation with my interior designer. I signed a renovation contract and paid a non-refundable 10% deposit. Midway through the project, I lost confidence in the designer to keep within our budget and decided not to proceed further.
As the deposit is non-refundable, we have requested the designer to perform only a small component (valued at deposit less 3D render fees + time spent selecting tiles) of services.
At this stage, we have only received our 3D render and went out once with the ID to select tiles/lights.
However they refused, stating it’s against their policy. The contract doesn’t mention anything about partial work or such policies. Is it common practice for designers to reject such requests, or do I have grounds to insist on partial services? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
