Hi fellow homeowners, i recently visited an ID event with my SO for our upcoming home reno, there seems to be 6 to 8 design companies there. Many of them have a few designers just sitting at their booth, waiting for homeowner to come. From what i heard from my friends most good ID firms are already short of manpower for this period till the next few months. If these firms are so free to have staff at events booth, does it mean that they are not as good? Hope to hear some opinions thanks

Went to this event at this coworking space, said will give me some Grab vouchers but end up i didn't get any! The IDs there are like robots make us feel like just moving in a factory line repeating our requirements again and again to each table.. waste of my Sunday.

In the end I check their reviews here, mostly averaged, mixed or negative. Wtf.

These events are only good to go see see get free food and vouchers. Heck even the "promised" vouchers have lots of lame terms and conditions. Browsed through their portfolio of the IDs there and most seem quite mediocre without much design thought. My most impressionable ID meet there was one that tried to charge me 70,000 for a 900 sqft 4-room renovation, with NO WORKS done to entire home's flooring and no carpentry in all 3 of my bedrooms! Not even a TV console. Never felt more like a freaking fat carrot 🤮
